We got to leave Saronida early (06:15) to beat the traffic and also enter Acropolis on the 08:00-10:00 slot to beat the heat.

We will be guided in Acropolis by these guys, arguably the best in the field:
The Acropolis tour will take about 2 hours.
Then we walk down from Acropolis, towards Thission, Plaka and Anafiotika

We will sit down there for coffee/brunch. No reservations required, we will just sit where we please. People may choose just to walk around to investigate the neighborhood. Anafiotika region is quite fashinating, a relic of a past era.
Then we meet around 12:45 to walk towards Zappeion and Kallimarmaro Stadium.

This will be the end of our walking tour.
Our trasfer will pick us up from Kallimarmaro around 13:30 and drive us to Mikrolimano

Mikrolimano is a very picturesque little port close to Piraeus, which, apart from its unique atmosphere, offers literally dozens of options for dining, from a Michelin-star restaurant to fast-food and souvlaki joints and everything in between.

Given that we will be a very big group with very diverse preferences and budgets, there will be no central reservation made by me. I can offer advise as I have tried several restaurants in the area, but it is up to you to make a reservation beforehand to a place of your choosing. Not that a reservation will be required for most places, we will visit on a Thursday afternoon so probably you will be able to choose a restaurant on the spot and be served, but if you want to be on the safe side with the most popular places, then it is better to reserve I guess.
At 16:00 we will board our transfer and driven back to Saronida.
*If you are residing in downtown Athens on the 21st of May you can join us directly at the Acropolis. Message me so that we can coordinate!
Second Leg: Sounio and the Poseidon Temple
Departure from Saronida: 18:00
Return to Saronida: 21:30
Est Cost: 8 EUR
What is included in the cost: Just the transfer. Entrance ticket to archeological site will be bought on the spot (10 EUR).
Joined by people that may arrive on the morning of 21/05(and miss the first leg), we will depart Saronida at 18:00 to head South to Sounio.
We will make a stop at Thymari, for coffee by the sea and a swim for those who feel like it

Then off we go to see the sunset from Poseidon’s Temple in Sounio!

Back to Saronida around 21:30
Wednesday 20/5/2026: Depending on how many people will be interested in this, we can get the boat from Piraeus to Hydra and spend the day there! Hydra is an amazing island, close to Athens. It is all the rage these days as Brad Pitt is making a movie there I hear.

Est. Cost: 15-25 EUR depending on the participants number. Max 50 people.
This is just the cost of the transfer.
The ticket will set you back around 75 EUR with the (very) fast ferry

We will get the ferry sailing from Piraeus at 08:30, so we need to leave Saronida around 06:30 to be sure we will be *in* the port around 08:00 (the port is very busy in the morning)
We will spend the better part of the day on the island
It is a very special island, for its natural beauty and its history, but also because all motor vehicles are forbidden.
So we will walk around the Hydra town and allow to be absorbed by the quietness and the magic of the place.
We will get the same ship back at 16:45 to arrive to Piraeus around 18:00 and back in Saronida around 19:30.
*if you are residing in downtown Athens on the 20th of May, you can join us directly at the port to board the ferry and get to Hydra together. You can get to the port by metro, easy!
Update: 18/04/2026
People who have signed up for our Hydra trip on 20/5 (and those considering it) are advised to book their ferry tickets the soonest! You can do it through ferryhopper.com or any other portal you may prefer. These are the trips we will use:

The total cost per person, after the discount we will get for using the same ship in and out will be 75.5 euros:

Please note that there will be an extra cost for transport from Saronida to Piraeus and back, it will be finalized once we have the final headcount.
